Motherhood can change what support realistically looks like.
Caring for a baby or young child often means your days are shaped around someone else's needs. Time alone may be rare, routines can change from one moment to the next, and making space for yourself isn't always as simple as scheduling an appointment.
At Paraclete Recovery, I believe mothers deserve support that honors those realities rather than asking them to overcome them first. During one-on-one telehealth sessions, your baby or young child is welcome to simply be with you. Whether they are nursing, playing nearby, resting, needing comfort, or moving in and out of the space, there is nothing additional you need to request or explain beforehand.
Our session remains your time. You can pause to meet your child's needs, return to the conversation, and continue receiving the support you came for. Conversation, recovery coaching, Human Design, Reiki, sound healing, and other healing practices can all unfold within the natural rhythm of caring for your child.
This openness is intentional. It reflects my belief that recovery, healing, and personal growth do not happen apart from life—they happen within it. The responsibilities you carry are part of your story, but they do not diminish your need for support or your capacity to receive it. Whether you are navigating recovery, adjusting to motherhood, reconnecting with yourself, or simply longing for a space where you can be fully human, you are welcome to come exactly as life is today.
Space for Receiving
For some mothers, receiving support can feel surprisingly unfamiliar. Not because they don't need it, but because somewhere along the way they learned that asking for help meant being a burden, that rest had to be earned, or that caring for themselves should come after everyone else's needs had been met.
Motherhood doesn't create these beliefs, but it often brings them into clearer view. The demands of caring for another life can gently uncover the expectations, roles, and messages that have quietly shaped the way you care for yourself.
Healing offers an opportunity to become curious about those beliefs rather than automatically living from them. It invites questions such as: Where did this belief begin? Does it still serve me? What would change if I allowed myself to receive support with the same openness that I offer it to others?
As those beliefs become visible, so do new possibilities. What once felt automatic can become intentional, allowing you to respond to yourself with the same compassion, presence, and care you so freely offer others.
Motherhood as a Mirror
For many women, motherhood has a way of bringing old experiences into the light. Moments of joy can exist alongside unexpected emotions, familiar fears, inherited beliefs, or patterns that seemed long forgotten. Experiences from childhood, family relationships, recovery, loss, or past trauma may begin to surface in ways that can feel surprising or difficult to understand.
This does not mean something is wrong.
Sometimes becoming a mother invites us to see ourselves with new eyes. It can reveal the ways we learned to protect ourselves, the beliefs we carry about love, worthiness, responsibility, or rest, and the patterns we hope to continue—or consciously choose to change.
At Paraclete Recovery, these experiences are not viewed as setbacks or signs that you are failing. They are approached with compassion, curiosity, and respect for the wisdom they may hold. Together, we create space to understand what is emerging, honor your lived experience, and support the healing that allows you to move forward with greater awareness, choice, and self-trust.
The Legacy of Healing
Every family carries a story.
Alongside the love, traditions, and strengths that are passed from one generation to the next, there may also be experiences of grief, addiction, trauma, silence, fear, or ways of relating that were shaped by the circumstances of those who came before us. Much of this is carried forward unintentionally, often without anyone recognizing where it began.
Healing offers an opportunity to become more aware of the patterns, beliefs, and ways of being that have shaped your life. From that place of awareness comes something deeply meaningful—the freedom to choose what you want to continue carrying and what you are ready to lay down.
At Paraclete Recovery, healing is not about striving for perfection or becoming a different person. It is about creating greater awareness, living with intention, and discovering that each small choice has the potential to influence not only your own life, but the relationships and generations that follow.
The work you do today becomes part of the story you continue to write tomorrow.
